FAH - FUTURE RX
Robin de Bekker aka Patronen aka Fah, has possibly created his most exciting work to date. An excellent full album made with just one machine, the classic Yamaha RX5, but with special modifications that allow him to use the machine’s sound converters and sequencer with his own sounds, adding warmth and an incredible texture that you can hear in every track Fah created for this project.
2x12 + extra 7". Silkscreen Printed Sleeve, high quality cardboard.
In Depth Review by Roger Versey for Timeline Music UK
Robin De Bekker has been doing his thing, pioneering and testing the limits in Electronic music that makes you dance and think, for nearly 20 years under the Artist names Fah, Dr. Dinsync, and possibly the mysterious LCTR. He’s not one to follow trends or fall under categories, and brings elements from many different styles and genres together in a unique and cohesive way. This has gained him great respect in the Braindance, Electro, IDM, and Acid scene…and he’s avoided becoming repetitive or mainstream. Still, its difficult to not notice Fah, as the artist’s music stands out without a doubt…
This special quality in Fah’s music has captured the attention of prolific labels like CPU, Occult Research, Shipwrec, Sleepers, and Fundamental for full length albums. In addition, he has self-released his music for quite some time and does so to this day, always dropping gems that are imaginative and far ahead of their days.
His latest full length album was released on Mental Fun, a sublabel of Alek Stark’s prolific, Fundamental Records. The name of it is ‘Future RX’ and here’s the catch; the album was produced exclusively with a RX5 drummachine and a DP-2 effects processor. Yes indeed, De Bekker experiments here like a true artist of the profession and creates quite a nice impression. In order to push the boundaries, we must also push ourselves, and Fah does just that across this set of two twelves. An additional 7″ is also included in this release, as well as a special limited Wooden Box edition that adds such a Class presentation to this essential vision.
The Future Starts There:
The opening of this affair begins with downtempo paced flair of ‘The Future Starts There’. Playing out like a refreshing scene into a serene dream, this track arrives with increasing volume as the melody and rhythm ... >>>> For more please visit the original review here: https://bit.ly/2Uuc8M9
